Castelul de la Ciucea ascunde multe lucruri ştiute, mai puţin cunoscute sau neştiute. Pe lângă multele dovedite istoric, există şi unele poveşti care, cel puţin deocamdată, rămân doar la acest nivel, de poveşti. Dovedită este, de exemplu, povestea unei tapiserii care fusese furată şi care acum ar costa, probabil, cel puţin un milion de dolari. Nedovedite sunt însă alte poveşti, cum că Veturia Goga ar fi fost spionul diferitelor puteri sau că Octavian Goga ar fi fost otrăvit. Istoricul clujean Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici ne prezintă câteva dintre ele.

O poveste de iubire: Veturia şi Octavian Goga

„Suntem în conacul, castelul în care a trăit Octavian Goga şi celebra sa nevastă Veturia. Veturia, născută Mureşan, a mai fost căsătorită o dată, cu un preot, Triteanu, dar şi Octavian Goga amai fost căsătorit, cu fata unui celebru preşedinte al Băncii Albina de la Sibiu, Mureşan. Dar idila care s-a înfiripat între ei, în jurul vârstei de mijloc, cam pe la 40 de ani, a durat de-a lungulvieţii lor.

Ceea ce trebuie să spunem, e că de aspectul interior şi exterior al castelului sau conacului este responsabilă Veturia, pentru că ea a abandonat activitatea ei artistico-teatrală. Trebuie să spunem că a fost numită chiar Privighetoarea Ardealului, avea o voce minunată, fiind o interpretă de muzică clasică extrem de preţuită, nu numai în Ardeal, ci şi în alte părţi ale lumii.

Dar ceea ce este de spus este că această femeie foarte hotărâtă a reuşit să spuravieţuiască în timpul mai multor dictaturi -carlistă, legionară, a lui Antonescu, proletcultistă şi a lui Ceauşescu.

Ea se stinge în 1979 şi moare pe acelaşi pat pe care a decedat şi Octavian Goga, care a avut un atac cerebral, deşi în ceea ce priveşte moartea poetului sunt foarte multe poveşti; există şi ipoteza că ar fi fost otrăvit la hotelul Continental din cluj de către opozanţii săi politici. A love story: Veturia and Octavian Goga

„We are in the mansion or the castle where Octavian Goga and his famous wife Veturia lived. Veturia Mureșan, by her maiden name, had been married before, to a priest, Triteanu. Octavian Goga had been married to another woman as well, more exactly to the daughter of a famous president of the Banca Albina in Sibiu, Mureșan. But the romance between him and Veturia, when they were about 40 years old, lasted for the rest of their lives.

We must say that Veturia is responsible for the interior and exterior design of the castle, because she abandoned her theatrical-artistic activity. In addition, it must be said that she was called the Nightingale of Transylvania, because she had a wonderful voice, being a highly appreciated classical music performer, not only in Transylvania, but also in other parts of the world.

She was born in a family with intellectual pursuits, she had two brothers, she was a polyglot, like the great poet, and after their divorce, on January 15, 1920, out of love for her husband, she took care of the construction plans here, because the building was not in a great condition when it had been bought from Berta, Ady Endre’s widow”, the historian narrates.

„What is very visible here is the famous tapestry of Lyon. When Goga was Prime Minister, he got it as a gift from the Shah of Iran. This tapestry was stolen and, in 1990, it was retrieved somewhere on the border between Germany and Switzerland. Unfortunately, the tapestry has deteriorated, but its inestimable value has not been diminished. At the time, the price was half a million dollars. Now, it costs much more due to the US dollar’s value increase.

Espionage and crimes stories at Ciucea Castle

„We could talk more about Veturia, about a lesser-known <<esoteric>> activity. Some say she was a spy in the service of the Reich, others say that she was a spy in the service of Intelligence Services, while others believe that she was an agent of the Romanian and Soviet secret services. These are rumors fueled by some so-called connoisseurs. But it must be said that this very determined woman managed to survive during several dictatorships – Carlist, Legionary, Antonescu’s regime, the proletcultist one and Ceaușescu’s.

She died in 1979 on the same bed where Octavian Goga died. He had a stroke, although there are many stories about his death, including the hypothesis according to which he was poisoned by his political opponents at the Continental Hotel in Cluj.
