Castelul de la Ciucea oferă doritorilor multe lucruri interesante, unele prea puţin cunoscute. De el se leagă, printre altele, prietenia dintre Octavian Goga şi Ady Endre. Dar de el se leagă şi o poveste de dragoste, viaţă şi moarte a celor doi soţi proprietari, Veturia şi Octavian Goga. Ne-o relatează istoricul clujean Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

„Ne aflăm în faţa locului de veci al soţilor Goga, Octavian şi Veturia, renumitul mausoleu care s-a realizat în decurs de zeci de ani; mă refer la finisarea sa. Realizarea lui s-a făcut în urma unei poveşti frumoase, pe care o relatez aici.

La un moment dat, în anii 1935-1936, Octavian Goga, văzând locul acesta de unde avem o privelişte extraordinară a comunei Ciucea, i-a spus soţiei sale: uite, aici vreau să avem noi somnul de veci. Brâncuşi trebuia să facă mausoleul

Un lucru mai puţin cunoscut e şi faptul că monumentul trebuia să fie ridicat de Constantin Brâncuşi.

„Sigur că n-a fost o muncă uşoară. În primul rând, de această muncă s-a ocupat Veturia. Ea, la un moment dat îl contactează pe marele nostru sculptor, Constantin Brâncuşi, care, în lipsă de timp, a declinat oferta. Atunci, Veturia s-a orientat spre Cantacuzino, marele arhitect al perioadei interbelice, care realizează această construcţie frumoasă, cu mozaic de Murano şi care este o dovadă elocventă a iubirii de frumos a ambilor soţi. Vedeţi şi stilul acestei mici capodopere arhitectonice.

Această muncă titanică a fost dusă la împlinire în anii comunismului. Veturia, prin dârzenia ei, a donat la un moment dat, în 1966, castelul statului român, cu condiţia ca mausoleul să fie finalizat şi ca aici să se creeze un muzeu memorial denumit după marele poet Octavian Goga”, istoriseşte Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

The Ciucea Castle offers visitors many interesting things, some of which are little known. Among other things, the friendship between Octavian Goga and Ady Endre is connected to him. But a story of love, life and death of the two owners, Veturia and her husband Octavian Goga, is also connected to it. The historian from Cluj, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici, tells the story to us.

„We are in front of the burial place of the Goga spouses, Octavian and Veturia, the famous mausoleum that was built over decades; I am talking about its finishing. Its realization was made following a beautiful story, which I reveal here.

At one point, in the years 1935-1936, Octavian Goga, seeing this place from where we have an extraordinary view of Ciucea, said to his wife: <<Look, here I want us to sleep forever>>.

This was later mentioned in his will of 1936, two years before the death of the great poet”, the historian from Cluj says.

Brâncuşi was supposed to make the mausoleum

A lesser-known fact is that the monument was meant to be erected by Constantin Brâncuși.

„Of course, it was not an easy job to do. At first, Veturia took care of it and, at some point, she had contacted our great sculptor, Constantin Brâncuşi, who, due to lack of time, declined the offer. Then, she turned towards Cantacuzino, the great architect of the interwar period, who created this beautiful construction, with Murano mosaic, and which eloquently proves the love of beauty the spouses shared.

This titanic work was brought to fruition during the years of communism. Veturia, through her will, donated the castle to the Romanian state in 1966, on one condition.

She wanted the mausoleum to be completed, and a memorial museum named after the great poet Octavian Goga to be created there”, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici adds.
