Comuna Negreni este una mică, cu doar vreo 2300 de locuitori, dar de ea s-a auzit în toată ţara, chiar şi în străinătate, datorită celebrului târg din zonă.

Târgul de la Negreni datează de câteva secole, iar în ultima perioadă, zeci, poate sute de mii de oameni vin să-l viziteze, pe lungimea sa de circa un kilometru, pe cele două maluri ale Crişului Repede şi în cele două ediţii ale sale, din iunie şi din octombrie. Este un târg unde, nelegal în multe cazuri, se comercializează comori istorice. O parte dintre acestea au fost depistate de poliţişti, cum este şi cazul unei medalii aniversare de la încoronarea regelui Ferdinand şi a reginei Maria, la Alba Iulia, în 15 octombrie 1922.

Alte câteva lucruri inedite despre Negreni ne sunt prezentate de istoricul clujean Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

Târg vechi de secole

„Suntem în zona celebrului târg de la Negreni, o zonă care are un farmec aparte, nu numai datorită târgului, ci şi datorită peisajului. În această zonă, în aşa-numita cetate a Prilogului, s-au găsit depozite şi artefacte din Epoca bronzului.

În ceea ce priveşte acest târg, care astăzi este foarte cunoscut, el dăinuie din Evul Mediu şi în acest loc veneau în general mocanii, oameni care locuiau la munte, şi făceau schimburi de produse cu cei care locuiau la şes. Sigur, treptat-treptat, acest lucru s-a încetăţenit în obişnuinţa şi în memoria oamenilor. În anul 1815 a fost recunoscut oficial ca târg”, explică istoricul clujean.

Şi din punct de vedere istoric, localitatea Negreni are o importanţă aparte. Pe aici a reuşit să scape dintr-o încercuire Horea.

„Un lucru mai puţin cunoscut este faptul că între anii 1782 și 1784, în zona aceasta a activat celebrul conducător al Răscoalei de la 1784-1785, Horea.

Horea, care, ştim că avea statutul de jeler şi era un foarte bun constructor. Lucrul acesta îl ştim şi din unele documente ale armatei habsburgice, care amintesc faptul că pe la lacul Fechetăului – alt nume dat acestei localităţi, în limba maghiară – Horea şi ai săi au reuşit să scape dintr-o capcană, înconjurare a turpelor habsburgice”, povesteşte Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

Comorile din târgul de la Negreni

Târgul de la Negreni este deja celebru în toată ţara şi chiar în Europa. Mulţi îl vizitează pentru a cumpăra chilipiruri, dar aici sunt şi adevărate comori.

„În ceea ce priveşte lucrurile pe care oamenii le cumpără de aici, ele sunt de o diversitate aparte. Şi alt lucru pe care trebuie să-l amintim este faptul că foarte multe obiecte care sunt obţinute ilicit, de valori inestimabile, au fost descoperite aici de poliţia patrimoniului. De exemplu, s-au găsit foarte multe icoane care au fost furate de la Nicula, cărţi vechi bisericeşti, monede vechi romane, premonede – şi alte lucruri care s-au comercializat în această zonă.

Aici sunt, de fapt, două târguri. Unul este în luna iunie, numit Târgul Coaselor, care ţine o săptămână, şi în a doua săptămână din octombrie este târgul propiu-zis, mai bine cunoscut.

Este o mică vedere în ansamblu şi din punct de vedere al unei culturi de care avem nevoie când vorbim de această localitate”, mai arată istoricul clujean.

Negreni is a small village, with about 2300 inhabitants, but many people, even foreigners, have heard about it, thanks to the famous fair in the area. The Negreni fair is several centuries old, and recently, tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people come to visit it, along its length of about one kilometer, on the two banks of the Crişul Repede, both in June and October – it has two editions. It is a fair where historical treasures are sold – many of them, illegaly. Some were discovered by the police, such as the anniversary medal from the coronation of King Ferdinand and Queen Maria, in Alba Iulia, on October 15, 1922. The historian from Cluj, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici, presents some other new things.

Centuries-old fair

“We are in the area of the famous Negreni fair, an area that has a special charm, thanks to the fair itself and the landscape. Here, in the so-called fortress of Prilog, deposits and artifacts from the Bronze Age were found.

As for this fair, which is very well known today, it has been going on since the Middle Ages. In this place, the people who lived in the mountains would generally come and exchange products with those who lived on the plains. Of course, gradually, this has become more common in people’s memory and day-to-day life. In 1815 it was officially recognized as a fair”, the historian explains.

The place where Horea escaped

From a historical point of view, the town of Negreni has a special importance. This is where Horea managed to escape from an encirclement.

„A less known fact is that, between 1782 and 1784, the famous leader of the 1784-1785 Uprising, Horea, was active in this area.

We know that he worked the land of other people and that he was a very good builder, taking into account the information that was found in some documents of the Habsburg army, which mention the fact that, at the Fechetăului Lake, – another name given to this locality, in Hungarian – Horea and his people managed to escape from a trap, surrounded by the Habsburg troops”, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici says.

The treasures at the Negreni fair

The Negreni fair is already famous throughout the country and even in Europe. Many visit it to buy small things, but there can be found real treasures, as well.
„As for the things that people buy here, they are of a special diversity. And another thing we must remember is the fact that many objects that are obtained illegally were discovered here by the heritage police. These objects, of inestimable value, include: many icons that were stolen from Nicula, old church books, old Roman coins – and other things that were traded in this area.

There are actually two fairs here. One is in June, called Târgul Coaselor, which lasts for a week, and in the second week of October, there is the better known fair.
It is a culture’s small point of view that we need when we talk about this locality”, he adds.
