Puţină lume a auzit de Denis Sinor. Puţină lume a auzit de ştiinţele altaice. El, un clujean, este considerat fondatorul lor, prin anii 60 ai secolului trecut. Denis Sinor was a member of numerous academies around the world, he was the head of some institutions and departments in the USA, England, France, etc. and he was awarded by Hungarians, Russians, French, English, Americans. Sinor Denis was not only an illustrious researcher, but also a very appreciated teacher, and one of the places where he taught was at one of the most important universities in the world, Cambridge.

„He was educated in Budapest and Vienna. Eventually, he moved to France, where he became a honorary citizen, because during the Nazi occupation, he fought in the French resistance, in the partisan struggle against the German Nazism.

He taught at Bloomington University in Indiana and was also an acclaimed teacher at the famous Cambridge University, one of the most famous universities in the world.

He passed away in 2011 and I must emphasize that he is a cultural personality and we, the people of Cluj, should know more about this special man who was born here”, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici adds.
