Dintre multele poveşti pe care le-a adunat Castelul de la Ciucea, ne oprim şi asupra uneia care îl priveşte pe unul dintre cei mai cunoscuţi locatari ai săi şi ultimul, dacă n-o punem la socoteală şi pe soţia sa Veturia. Astăzi, Octavian Goga este un personaj controversat. Este iubit de mulţi pentru poezia sa şi pentru lupta sa naţională, este contestat de alţii, pentru orientările sale politice. Dar niciun om nu are numai părţi bune, cum, de altfel, niciun om nu are numai părţi rele. Pe scurt, le surprindem pe amândouă în cazul lui Octavian Goga împreună cu istoriculclujen Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

„Suntem în castelul de la Ciucea, care aaprţinut marelui poet Octavian Goga. Suntem chiar în camera de lucru a maestrului, unde vedem biroul, unde este şi un bloc notes care a aparţinut celebrului poet, cu ultima sa filă. De asemenea, în această cameră există şi o icoană extrem de valoroasă, mai în spate, în fundal, se află biblioteca poetului, iar aici este un portret al lui Goga la vârsta de 50 şi ceva de ani.

Marele poet s-a născut la Răşinari, în 1881, a făcut şcoala în jurul acestei localităţi, mai ales la Sibiu, a fost un poet care a militat pentru drepturile şi pentru libertăţile poporului român. Ca urmare a acestui fapt şi a luptei sale naţionale, el a fost şi întemniţat la Seged, iar acolo a fost susţinut, în anii de detenţie, de prietenul său Ady Endre, poetul maghiar care a fost un prieten, de-a lungul timpului, cu Octavian Goga”, arată istoricul clujean.

Premier 44 de zile

„În ceea ce priveşte activitatea sa politică, Octavian Goga a fost şeful Partidului Naţional Agrar, care ulterior a funcţionat cu Partidul Liga Apărării Naţional-Creştine a lui AC Cuza.

Şi se naşte un nou partid, Partidul Naţional Creştin, cu orientare de dreapta, chiar de extrema dreaptă, pentru că -trebuie să spunem şi lucrul acesta-, doctrina partidului şi se pare că şi a lui Goga era xenofobă, era antisemită.

Dovada elocventă este că în perioada scurtă cât a fost el prim-ministru, 44 de zile (28 decembrie 1937- februarie 1938), s-au luat şi primele măsuri împotriva evreilor”, explică Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici.

Among the many stories about the Ciucea Castle, we dwell on one that concerns one of its most famous tenants, and the last one, if we do not include his wife Veturia. Today, Octavian Goga is a controversial figure. He is loved by many for his poetry and for his national struggle, he is contested by others for his political orientations. „We are inside the Ciucea castle, which belonged to the great poet Octavian Goga. We are right in his workroom. Here is the desk, there is also a notebook that belonged to him, with his last page. Also, in this room, there is an extremely valuable icon, and further back, in the background, there is the poet’s library and a portrait of him at the age of 50 or so.

He was born in Răşinari, in 1881, he went to school near this locality, especially in Sibiu, he was a poet who campaigned for the rights and freedoms of the Romanian people. As a result of this fact and his national struggle, he was also imprisoned in Seged, where he was supported, during the years of detention, by Ady Endre, the Hungarian poet who was a friend, over time, with Octavian Goga „, the historian from Cluj says.

Prime Minister for 44 days

„Regarding his political activity, Octavian Goga was the head of the National Agrarian Party, which later functioned with AC Cuza’s Christian National Defense League Party.

And a new party was born, the Christian National Party, with a right-wing orientation, extreme right even, because – we have to say this – the doctrine of the party and, apparently, that of Goga was xenophobic, anti-Semitic.

The eloquent proof is that, during the short period he was prime minister, for 44 days (December 28th, 1937 – February 1938), the first measures against the Jews were taken”, Vladimir Alexandru Bogosavlievici explains.

But, to quote from the Bible, „Let whomever among you is without sin throw the first stone”…

„A man’s life must be viewed objectively – with both good and bad – and his poems and the activity he carried out must be appreciated for their real value, of course, without omitting the mistakes, which we all have”, the historian suggests.
